Did you know that in Oregon 47 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 10 women could die THIS WEEK?  Oregon & Southwest Washington has one of the highest combined rates of diagnosed breast cancer in the Nation.  Currently there is no way to collectively study tumors from our region to find out why so many women are being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Treva Hoffman Foundation gives hope to people in this region who are fighting breast cancer by offering a Patient Assistance Program, and by advocating local level researchers who are looking for the cause of this inflated rate of cancer. The foundation will work with local cancer facilities to make a difference in the quality of life of patients and their caregivers by mobilizing support groups and by supplying financial assistance for their basic needs.

The Treva Hoffman Foundation was founded by family and friends of Treva Hoffman, who in July 2003 was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Treva having no prior family history of breast cancer successfully underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy via Mid-Columbia Medical Center’s Celilo Cancer Center.

She remained cancer free for over four years. In October 2007, Treva was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer and until her passing on August 12, 2008, led this foundation to support the fight against breast cancer.

The efforts made today will assist to invest in the health and care of future generations. Here at the Treva Hoffman Foundation, we believe 'each step is a step' and each dollar gets us closer to understanding the causes, as well as working toward a cure. Funds raised stay in our local area to benefit cancer patients in our community. There are different ways to make a donation.  Make a general, in honor or in memory donation; or by purchasing a "Treva and Friends Cooking for The Cure" cookbook.
